Poppy Hunt
Poppy was a dear girl who embraced life with an energy, happiness and enthusiasm that touched so many people’s lives.
Poppy and I tried to live our lives to the full despite the difficulties that Dravet Syndrome presented her. She was diagnosed at 10 months old and she amazed everyone by bouncing back from periods in intensive care over the years. She died in her sleep at home on 29th March from SUDEP.
Poppy and I were both learning sign language, although she did learn to say some words and phrases. We were a team and could communicate without words; often a look, smile or cuddle was enough.
Her love for her all too short life and the infectious happiness she brought to us will remain in our hearts forever.
