This year Dravet Syndrome UK will be celebrating 10 years of providing hope for families with life-limiting epilepsy and to mark this momentous occasion will be holding a fundraising dinner on?? Those living with Dravet syndrome live with the risk of SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in EPilepsy).

Broadcaster Natasha Kaplinsky, who is hosting the evening, commented on her involvement:

“I am very pleased to help raise awareness for Dravet Syndrome UK. As a small charity, the work Dravet Syndrome UK does to support families affected by this catastrophic condition is remarkable. The charity have funded research grants of almost £230,000 since 2011, a significant contribution towards improved diagnosis and treatment offering hope to many living with the condition.”

Similarly actor John Sessions is attending as special guest and remarked:

Quotation

A devastating condition, Dravet syndrome dramatically impacts the lives of the children and adults it affects, along with their families. I am delighted to be able to lend my support to this momentous evening at The Ned in the hope that we can work together to raise awareness and funds for future research into treatments.

John Sessions, Actor

As a small charity Dravet Syndrome UK has made huge strides over the last 10 years supporting families in many ways including the provision of life-saving night time monitoring devices, hosting a biennial conference, offering support grants and running an annual family weekend away at Center Parcs in Sherwood Forest.

Dravet Syndrome UK hope this event at The Ned will help support their work and fund further research.

About Dravet Syndrome UK

Dravet Syndrome UK is an independent UK charity dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by Dravet syndrome through support, education and medical research. The charity was founded in October 2008 by parents desperately seeking support and information about treatments and research, all of which was sadly lacking in the UK at that time. Since then the charity has established a board of Trustees and a Professional Advisory Board with membership rising from just thirty families to almost five hundred.
