Dravet Syndrome UK’s Board of Trustees, are pleased to appoint Claire Eldred as the charity’s new Director. Dravet Syndrome UK (DSUK) is the only registered charity dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by Dravet Syndrome in the UK, a catastrophic form of epilepsy that occurs in around 1 in 15,000 live births.
Claire’s appointment comes at a time of continuing growth for DSUK, which supports over 500 families with the condition, providing vital support, education, and research services, underpinned by a world class medical advisory board.
Claire has been part of the senior leadership team at DSUK since March 2020, having initially joined as Head of Marketing and Communications. She has been Acting Director since July 2022. The Trustees appointed Claire to the Director role based on her record of achievement at the charity, combined with her extensive background and expertise in healthcare communications.

Claire brings the experience, dedication and passion needed to help navigate the challenges and opportunities we face, while continuing to deliver our long-term strategy.’
