Fundraise at Work

Find out how to spread the word about Dravet Syndrome and involve your workplace and colleagues in your fundraising efforts.

By fundraising at work, you’re helping to support more families, educate more professionals and fund more research into Dravet Syndrome.

There’s plenty of ways in which you and your colleagues can get involved in raising vital awareness and funds. Read on to find out more and please contact our Head of Fundraising Tania Lewis [email protected]  to discuss if this might be an opportunity for your organisation.

Corporate Partnerships and Sponsorship Opportunities

If your workplace or business is keen to develop a relationship with a charity, whether that’s to demonstrate corporate social responsibility, encourage employee engagement or support an employee who cares for someone living with Dravet Syndrome, we’d love to hear from you.

We recognise that no two businesses are the same and for that reason we don’t have a ‘typical’ Charity of the Year partnership agreement. Our partnerships are usually bespoke relationships, where we meet with you to understand more about how you operate and what you can see yourselves getting involved in, before we propose a range of fundraising and awareness raising opportunities that may suit your workplace or business, regardless of its size or location.

Whether it’s a partnership lasting a year, a one off event sponsorship or a longer-term commitment to each other, we’ll be delighted to work with you.

Interested? Contact our Head of Fundraising Tania Lewis [email protected]  to discuss if this might be an opportunity for your organisation.

“We decided to support Dravet Syndrome UK as a relative of one of our employees lives with the condition. Hearing more about the impact of Dravet Syndrome on family life, we’re incredibly proud to do our bit and work in partnership to raise vital funds and awareness.”
Gary Miller-Cheevers (CEO, Cubefunder)

Ad-hoc Corporate Fundraising Events

Whether your team works remotely, is based in an office or spread out across multiple sites, there are always ways to get involved with fundraising.

You could;

  • Sign up to one of our amazing events as a team or an individual
  • Talk to us about discounted team entry into a running challenge or our flagship virtual challenge, Every Day in May for Dravet
  • Invite your business networks to a charity golf day
  • Organise a quiz night – online or in person
  • Hold dress down, dress up, or themed clothing days
  • Treat your tastebuds with bake sales
  • Spur on team or inter-business competition with a football tournament (or any other sport for that matter!)
  • Improve wellbeing by creating an active challenge, like a month long plank or steps challenge
  • Save the environment by recycling your ink cartridges through recycle4charity.co.uk – for every ink cartridge you send, we’ll receive £1

Whatever you choose, we are here to help and support you! We can provide branded fundraising materials, such as banners, balloons and leaflets, as well as advice in collecting online and offline donations, and social media posts celebrating your incredible support. Contact [email protected] to see how we can help you with your plans!

“We were proud to sponsor Dravet Syndrome UK’s Awesome Abseil event by making a corporate donation to help keep entry costs to a minimum, enabling more participants to fundraise for the event. As part of the sponsorship package, we were given 8 free places. My team had an amazing time, braving a 100ft drop down the side of Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium, raising over £4000 in additional funds for this important charity.”
Jon Barnes Jnr (Managing Director, Roofdec Ltd)

Match Funding

Match funding is when an organisation matches the amount an employee donates or fundraises for their chosen charity, usually up to a set level. There is sometimes a requirement for the employee to apply for this additional funding from their employer when their own fundraising is complete, but it’s generally a quick and easy process and will boost your donation, or the funds you’ve already raised when taking part in an event, with no additional cost to you.

Does your workplace or business offer match funding to employees, demonstrating a commitment to the causes you care about? Speak to your HR or CSR team to find out more.

Payroll Giving

Payroll giving is a tax-efficient way to donate to charity, allowing you to support families affected by Dravet Syndrome every time you get paid.

With payroll giving, the donations you make to charity are taken from your pay before income tax is deducted so your donation goes further and costs you less.

Check with your employer to see whether they already have a Payroll Giving scheme set up, or contact us to find out more. Contact our Head of Fundraising, Tania Lewis, for more information and to discuss how we can work together, on [email protected].
